See the hidden hand of our Lord through the sufferings we experience each day
Father Pillari
These beautiful words came to my ears a couple of days ago durning the Rosary. I pray the Rosary daily with Father Pillari and Regina Angelorum Press on YouTube. I have been doing this for a little over a year now and can say that it has been something that has brought me such peace in my heart and soul. So often I get stuck, stuck in the unknown, stuck in the sorrow, and stuck in sadness. The last six months have been a great test for me. I am no longer the same person I was in October 2023. I have changed, rather I have grown. I have grown as a wife, a mother, a caregiver, but mostly as a woman learning how to navigate carrying a cross I did not expect to bear.
I guess it would be fair to say that no cross is ever expected. It is through the unexpected we may find the most growth spirituality, mentally, and physically. I have often wondered what I have done to lead to the suffering I am experiencing today. I can accept my suffering and sorrow, but I have difficulty accepting and watching my children suffer. I know that is also a part of my own cross, but it dose’t make it any easier to walk through. I think if Mary walking with her Son, Jesus, on the road to Calvary. Here is a Mother, who has “kept all these things in her heart” for so many years, now walking with her Son to his death. Walking with him, carrying the cross that He will then be put to death on. As she walked, I can imagine her looking for the hand of God in all the suffering she was feeling and witnessing. As I walk though my day, watching those I love struggle and suffer, I pray that I can look to Our Lady and follow in her example. That by following Her footsteps on the way to Calvary, She will lead me to the her the most Sacred Heart of her Son Jesus.
Our mother of sorrows,
with strength from above you stood by the cross,
sharing in the sufferings of Jesus,
and with tender care you bore him
in your arms, mourning and weeping. We praise you for your faith,
which accepted the life God planned for you.
We praise you for your hope,
which trusted that God would do great things in you.
We praise you for your love
in bearing with Jesus the sorrows of his passion.Holy Mary, may we follow your example,
and stand by all your children who need comfort and love.Mother of God,
stand by us in our trials and
care for us in our many needs.
Pray for us now and at the hour of our death.Amen!
